    Basic Registration

    What is FSSAI?
    FSSAI stands for Food Safety Standards Authority of India. It is an autonomous statutory body responsible for regulating and supervising food safety in India.
    What is FOSCOS?
    Food Safety Compliance System is an enhanced version of the Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS) which was launched in 2012 for the issuance of PAN India FSSAI License.
    Who is required to register under FSSAI?
    • All food business operators (FBOs) in India are required to register.  This includes food manufacturers, traders, restaurants, caterers, and other entities involved in food business operations, regardless of their size or type of business.
    • The FSSAI license serves as proof of compliance with food safety regulations and standards set by the FSSAI.
    What are the types of FSSAI?

    There are three types of FSSAI license issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India:

    1. Basic FSSAI License: Issued to small-scale food businesses that have an annual turnover of less than 12 lakhs.
    2. State FSSAI License: Issued to food businesses with an annual turnover of more than 12 lakhs and less than 20 crores.
    3. Central FSSAI License: Issued to food businesses with an annual turnover of more than 12 lakhs and more than 20 crores.

    Both types of licences are valid for a period of 1-5 years and are renewable. The type of licence required will depend on the nature and scale of the food business operations.

    3. Centre Registration: 3999 for 1 year (professional charges only)
    Why is FSSAI registration required?
